Next up...a trip to Bainbridge Island and the local winery. Plus, Dad and I got to take a trip on the ferry. WARNING: MOM DON'T READ THIS! The ferry was my way to get a piece of Grey's Anatomy in my trip. ;)
The ferry is used by commuters on regular basis so we got to watch cars and people load up too.
Looking back on the trip to Seattle, the next few hours were quite possible the funniest to happen. However, at the time, in the rain, they were not so amusing.
Dad and I hopped off the ferry and quickly got on the "bus" to head up to the winery. The bus on Bainbridge Island is actually a shuttle of sorts and makes no attempts at being friendly. We were dropped off on a strange street and tried to follow signs to the winery that I was told was just a small walk up the street. Almost one mile later we came upon the Bainbridge Island Vineyards & WInery.
Not really the ideal site, is it?
Oh...it got better!
I felt like we were in Deliverance!
But, we plugged ahead and got to the winery and enjoyed a nice wine tasting. Yummy wines for $5!
After the tasting it was back to the bus where we waited for an hour in the rain for the next bus. This is where it set in that this was all funny. :)
Once we caught the bus we walked around the "downtown" area of Bainbridge Island. Basically it consisted of 1 street and a few odd places to eat. We finally settled on Emmy's Vege House, which was about the size of a closet and was located outside. Too bad it was like 30 degrees! Dad was a good sport and ate the vegetarian food, including the tofu kabob!
It started to rain a bit harder so we got back on the ferry and headed back to Seattle.
It was a long day with quite the adventures so we headed back for a short nap then it was time for dinner. The first day I had seen a sign for The Pike Place Pub and Brewery. I had seen it in my touristy books so we headed over for a late dinner. Food was decent, but the service left much to be desired! As much as we wanted to be cool and hang out we had to head back to the hostel and get to bed!
